::Tweedy's Take the World - Ireland::

Hey y'all!

As I mentioned in my last post, we did a bit of traveling in the last 2 months!

We moved from San Diego to Oklahoma, then a week later we turned around & headed abroad to Ireland & Britain!

Today is going to be Part 1 of 3 & all about our trip to Ireland!

{Part 2 - England | Part 3 - Lemmon Stayed Stateside}

I loved Ireland! All of the people we met were so stinking nice! If you have a chance, GO!
Now time for a billion {but not all} pictures from our honeymoon Part 1!

Day 2 : Dublin Airport | Wicklow National Park | Springfarm Sheep Farm
5:15 AM arrival! Welcome to Dublin!
Driving on the right side of the car & left side of the road was a challenge!
 I am so happy that we rented a car for the first part of our trip. It really let us see the countryside.
{ps - Mattie did most of the driving. I was too chicken!}
We joked that if you're a couple and need help with communication, just rent a car in a country that drives on the opposite side of the road. You are bound to improve your communication skills!

 Our host at Springfarm informed us that Wicklow National Park was burned up because a lot of sheep farmers do illegal burning at night for better grazing. Parts of it were beautiful but there was quite a bit that was brown & scorched.

We loved our stay at Springfarm {except for the part where I spent the whole first day in bed from jet lag}. Our host was extremely nice and helpful. It was so beautiful and they allow you to help out if you want! If we make it back to Ireland,  we will have to stay again!

Day 3 : New Ross | Jameson Distillery | Church Bay

On our second day, we drove through New Ross on our way to Middleton. We decided to stop and take a look at this old ship, which happened to have the JFK memorial in front of it.

We stayed with a lovely couple in Crosshaven and the view below was from their patio. We enjoyed hiking down to the bay, as well as, to the Templebreedy Church & Graveyard

Day 4 : Templebreedy Church & Graveyard | Killarney | Dingle

On our third morning, we hiked to Templebreedy Church & Graveyard. The church was built in 1779 and was open for about 100 years. The oldest grave dates back to 1711.

Day 5 : Pony Trekking | Dingle Peninsula | Dingle Brewing Co.

Pony Trekking was the highlight of our trip! We opted for the 2 hour trek on the beach then through the mountains. We managed to keep warm during the hail storm & rain. Definitely an experience we'll never forget!

I have to say, I am still dreaming about the food we ate while we were there! This was made by our host in Lahinch and it was divine!

Day 16 : Dublin - Queen of Tarts | Guinness Store House | Samuel Beckett Bridge
As you can see we jumped to Day 16 because days  7-15 were spent in Britain!
{You can check that out in Part 2}
 This was our only full day spent in Dublin. It was nice to see parts other than the Temple Bar District.

::The Big O-N-E::

 Hey y'all!

Life has been a whirlwind since we last spoke!

Between Lennon turing ONE, Mattie becoming a civilian again, moving halfway across the country, and going to Ireland & Britain, it's been a little crazy around here!

Speaking of Lemmon turning one... I had way too much fun with her for this! I mean it was her FIRST birthday!

{ps: this is a little late, considering her birthday was almost 3 months ago}

Here are some of the photos from her MAGICAL day!
Playing with some of her new toys!
She loved her crib full of balloons!
NOT a fan of her cake! She took one taste and gagged! It was HILARIOUS!!
Lemmon's First Birthday Shoot:
We decided to do the photo's ourself at Ocean Beach. She LOVES the beach so we figured it was the best place to do it! I made the flower crown in an easy 2 hours.
{Really it was easy once I got the hang of it.}
Tip: if your baby girl won't keep her flower crown on, put something on your head to show her it works. At least it worked with Lemmon.
Since we were obviously still in San Diego at this time, we waited to throw her birthday party for when we got back to Oklahoma with our families.

We decided to have it at a cute park in Downtown at 10 AM. Since we weren't able to have it until the middle of June, this time was crucial for the Oklahoma summer HEAT! It wasn't too big {just 35 of Lemmon's closest family} and didn't require much food.

My main tip of planning a first birthday party: Designate a family member to take photos.
I was lucky that my sister and other members took a few photos, but I was running around like a mad woman. I didn't take a single photo! This is very strange, if you know me!
Small snacks were perfect for our morning!
Photo Fans were a big hit with the ladies! Sunscreen & Bug Spray were great to have on hand for an outside party!
"Lemmon-ade", Ice Tea & bottles of water covered our thirsty pallets!
Smash Cake on the custom painted {by Mattie and Jams} wooden high chair!
She definitely enjoyed the Lemmon Poppyseed Cake with Vanilla Bean Buttercream from Antoinette Baking Co.
After the cake, Lemmon cooled off in Guthrie Green's Splash Pad!
{A water baby after my own heart}

This was a fun day! The sugar crash might have been the highlight!
The struggle is REAL!

Let me know your PARTY tips! Never to early to start planning of next year!
